  • Experience tires realistically in virtual space in order to improve product completion

NEXEN TIRE announced that it will strengthen its digital design process capabilities by building a design simulation system using Virtual Reality (VR).

NEXEN Central Research Institute, located in Magok, Seoul, has created a virtual reality design review system, allowing users to appreciate the scale of real tires in a virtual space.

NEXEN TIRE is the first company in the domestic tire industry to use VR design reviews to improve product completeness and evaluate sensitivity by reviewing tread performance design styling and sidewall pattern design. Furthermore, when compared to a mock-up, it is expected to reduce design development time and cost.

Furthermore, the tire maker intends to respond flexibly to the rapidly changing automobile industry paradigm and strengthen its global competitiveness through superior performance and quality.

NEXEN TIRE will also hold a VR experience exhibition in the future, using Head Mounted Display (HMD) equipment, to allow users to experience not just products but also the company's history and design philosophy through the VR design simulation system.

Meanwhile, NEXEN TIRE recently signed an MOU with the Korea Expressway Corporation's Transportation Research Institute, and it intends to strengthen its R&D capabilities by conducting virtual tire performance evaluations using driving simulators in order to advance its market competitiveness
