- Company to exhibit artworks with installation artist Jaewon Kang at the NEXEN UniverCity, company’s central research and development center
NEXEN TIRE, a leading global tire manufacturer, today announced that it is holding a collaboration exhibition with renowned installation artist Jaewon Kang to promote its design philosophy.
Jaewon Kang, a multifaceted installation artist, has been presenting works that link or originate modeling work on 3D programs into various forms of realistic and futuristic sculptures. For instance, the artist's inflatable (air-injected) sculpture – which produces an optical illusion using a fabric or a material that looks smooth and hard like shiny metal – differs from the existing sculptures by injecting air through a blower.
Ultimate Sensual, Timeless Movement, the design philosophy and the title of NEXEN TIRE’s exhibition, represents "ultimate beauty that has not changed over time," indicating the direction of the company’s design.
The design philosophy incorporates core elements of Objet with Dynamics, Objet with Essence, and Objet with Refinedness into the artist’s massive and diverse material object while presenting Nexen Tire's unique design philosophy.
The tire maker envisioned for the exhibition to showcase its unrivalled design philosophy through artistic objets and that tires should also be viewed as an artistic object rather than a simple product.
The exhibition will be open to the public until July 28 in the lobby of The NEXEN UniverCity, Nexen Tire’s central R&D facility located in Magok, Seoul.
